Injury reports seem to come in bunches along this year’s road to the roses. Tuesday it was revealed Spring Hill
Farm will have surgery for a knee fracture. The Todd Pletcher trained colt was the favorite in last
Saturday’s Tampa Bay Derby (G2), but finished a troubled fourth after hitting
the gate at the start- a misstep that actually caused the injury. He would have had an uphill battle
getting earnings for the Kentucky Derby, but more concerning is the possibility
his racing career is over// Sabercat’s owner Ron Winchell said even if his
horse disappoints in the next two preps the Kentucky Derby is still in the

given the prestige, two million dollar purse, recent upsets, and fact the race is

grass and synthetic stakes-placed runner Lucky Chappy will fly to Dubai for the

he is in the same capable hands as last year’s Kentucky Derby winner Animal
